In this webinar, we will hear from Abir Raslan, Assistant Director at from Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) as she shares how her university integrates digital tools into their operational strategy to alleviate administrative burdens, improve faculty well-being, and support recruitment and retention. By reducing manual tasks, TAMUQ has increased efficiency and dedicated more resources to core academic priorities such as teaching and research. Prof. Dr. Salem will share share the university’s approach to building a robust research strategy that aligns with institutional goals, supports faculty development, and fosters impactful collaboration. Drawing from her experience, she will discuss the processes involved in setting research priorities, enabling interdisciplinary initiatives, securing funding, and measuring research impact. Abir Raslan is a highly motivated higher education professional with over 27 years of international experience, distinguished for delivering outstanding support to executive leadership and championing faculty affairs excellence. She currently serves as the Associate Director for Faculty Affairs at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), where she leads initiatives in faculty hiring, promotion, annual reviews, recognition, and compliance with institutional policies.
Her career at TAMUQ spans nearly two decades, during which she has held progressive leadership roles—including Assistant Director and Manager of Faculty Services—making significant contributions to strategic academic planning, policy development, and faculty data systems. Her critical thinking, analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail have earned her numerous accolades, including the Dean’s Achievement Award for Outstanding Service, STAR Award (for Service, Teamwork, Attitude, Responsibility) and multiple service recognition honors from TAMUQ.
In addition to her leadership at TAMUQ, she has held administrative roles at Qatar University, the College of the North Atlantic–Qatar, and Atofina Petrochemical, further enriching her cross-institutional expertise.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with honors from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management in New York, and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Egypt.
