Developing your English & Academic Study Skills Masterclass Series at Lincoln

About This Series

Choosing to study at a UK university is a big step, especially if English is not your first language. To help support international students in preparing for their studies at the University of Lincoln, our International College experts have designed a four-part Masterclass Series designed to build confidence in important English and academic study skills.

Our Masterclass Series will take place from 11am to 12pm every Tuesday across March. The sessions will be hosted by Dr Chokri Ghezal, International College In-sessional Programme Manager, and Andy Barker, Deputy Head of our International College.

The Masterclass Series will cover four key areas. Session One on March 7 will provide an introduction to English communication in the University context and practical aspects of writing. Session Two on March 14 will focus on cultivating your listening and speaking skills, and Session Three on March 21 will develop skills in reading at a UK University. Finally, Session Four on March 28 will explore the subject of academic writing, covering style, use of sources, and referencing.

Throughout each session, Chokri and Andy will provide hints and tips for the IELTS, and all participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
