Building Capacity in Africa / 26-27th November 2021

Our current project is all about Building Capacity in Africa, with a specific focus on diagnostics. FYMCA Medical LTD ran a successful Advisory Board to discuss the particular subject: “Solutions to overcome the Obstacles in Diagnosing Patients with suspected Rare Diseases.” The 21 respondents consisted of Laboratory personnel, Patient Organization representatives and clinicians from across sub-Sahara Africa plus representatives from International Gaucher Alliance (IGA), iMPS (International MPS), Fabry International Network (FIN), plus Prof Roberto Giugliani.

One of the questions that was asked, was to identify the biggest barrier in getting patients diagnosed and 85% of respondents identified the barrier as: “EDUCATION at all levels”.

To address this educational need, this 2 Day Summit has been put together.
