SCALE is a NSF-funded research collaboration among Carnegie Mellon University, University of California at Irvine, University of Nebraska, Accenture, Bosch, and IBM.
Our research encompasses the theory development, empirical studies, key design principles, exemplary prototypes, and empirical evaluations that together form the novel groundwork for effective in-context coordination. Our overarching aim is to provide a scientific foundation for coordination systems that make large-scale and distributed project awareness, communication, and coordination as effortless as in a small team.
