A dedicated member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) since 2007, Susan has held numerous leadership roles within the Society. She served as President of the SAME New Jersey Post from 2013–2015 and currently serves as an appointed Director. Additional leadership includes serving on the SAME Foundation Board from 2017–2025, as an elected Director on the SAME Board of Direction and National Leadership Academy (NLA), and as Vice Chair of the SAME AOF North Atlantic Region Fellows. Susan was named a SAME Fellow in the Class of 2019.

Shane now serves as Director of Business Development at Cavalry Consulting, a proposal and capture consulting firm helping government contractors win federal work.
Shane has been a SAME member since 2017, serving as the Enlisted Community of Interest Chair from May 2021 to May 2023 and as an Elected Director from May 2023 to May 2026. He is currently a candidate for the SAME Texas Region Leadership Development Program.
