In retirement there are things that we can control and there are things that we can’t. We don’t know what the stock market will do. We don’t know how long we’re going to live. We don’t know what taxes are going to look like 10 or 15 years from now. But, what we do know is that if we don’t plan for any of these things and something significant happens, our only choice is to react. My goal is to help you gain control by addressing three key risks that could quickly derail your retirement.

About the Speaker

1588111956-6569c1347803b6f3 Greg Oray

Greg immigrated to the United States from Latvia when he was nine years old, arriving here with his mother, Olga, and less than $500 in their pockets. His mother’s determination and hard work gave him the opportunity to receive a great education and grow up a proud Michigander. Olga worked incredibly hard to create a good life for them, and Greg grew up with a deep appreciation of hardworking people, inspiring him to enter the financial services industry in 2007. Having seen his mother taken advantage of financially, Greg is determined to help people avoid financial pitfalls due to bad advice, or not seeking advice at all.

Greg’s mission is to help make retirement planning less complicated by focusing on what he views as the five most important aspects of retirement: retirement income, investment management, tax planning, Medicare and long-term care, and legacy planning. It’s part of his holistic approach to wealth management that aims to help clients in all aspects of their financial lives. Greg is an Investment Advisor Representative and is life and health insurance licensed.

When not helping clients, you can usually find Greg and his fiancée, Madelyn King, golfing or hiking with their two golden retrievers, Mac and Charlie. He also enjoys skiing, fishing, racquetball, and helping the community through various charities. Greg started the RFG Piggy Bank project to help raise money for charity donations. At the start of each year, Greg hands out piggy banks to his clients and at the end of the year he matches what’s in them to donate to a charity. Also, Greg participates in the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep Internship program and each year mentors seniors who are looking for a career path. Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in finance from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan.
