Please note this webinar is open to government authorities and ITSA members only.

As an increasing number of governments move toward implementing track and trace systems to control their excisable goods supply chain and curb illicit trade, this webinar addresses the prerequisites for implementing successful systems, including the use of tax stamps to enable secure and independent track and trace and real-time production monitoring.

ITSA is delighted to welcome Dr Hana Ross, from the University of Cape Town and Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, as guest speaker at this event. Dr Ross will examine the dos and don’ts for achieving track and trace success, referring to real-world cases of successful and failed systems.

The webinar will also discuss what a digital-only track and trace system, without physical security features, could typically consist of, and what type of fraudulent schemes could thrive, undetected, under such a system. It will then go on to present use cases that have combined physical and digital technologies to positive effect, in terms of increased revenues and taxpayer compliance.
