ITSA is delighted to be hosting a webinar on Thursday 22 October with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), exploring Uganda’s fiscal marking programme for non-alcoholic beverages.

Featuring URA guest speakers Samalie Namitala, Supervisor Digital Tax Stamps, and Garry Kizito, Assistant Commissioner, Compliance Management, the webinar will examine the objectives behind Uganda’s fiscal marking programme, how the solution operates, and the regulatory and policy framework underpinning its implementation.

Drawing on URA’s practical experience, the speakers will discuss the operational and industry challenges encountered along the way, the importance of engagement and collaboration with manufacturers, and the role of technology and data in strengthening revenue assurance, compliance and enforcement.

The session will also look at the results achieved to date, including the programme’s impact on government revenue collection, tax compliance and visibility of the market. It will consider what has worked well, where there is still room for improvement, and the key lessons Uganda’s experience can offer other tax administrations considering or developing similar fiscal marking programmes.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, providing participants with an opportunity to put their questions directly to the URA speakers.
