New cybersecurity requirements are becoming a critical factor in procurement decisions for European solar and storage projects.
Restrictions already affecting EU-backed and EIB-financed projects show that supplier risk is becoming a concrete investment issue, while the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the proposed revision of the EU Cybersecurity Act point to further changes ahead.
This session will examine what developers need to consider when procuring components for projects in 2027 and beyond, what liability asset owners and operators could face if cybersecurity risks materialize, and whether security concerns can be addressed through technical and organizational safeguards rather than supplier restrictions alone.
