About
Back contact cell structures promise among the highest conversion efficiencies possible with single-junction silicon PV. Optimizations to the manufacturing processes mean that back contact is now ready to scale and claim a significant share of the PV module market. In this webinar, we take a closer look at Longi Solar’s Hi-MO 9 back contact module and their long-term performance in the field.

Back contact cell architectures have been the focus of several major cell manufacturers in recent years, as they seek to turn the technology’s well documented performance potential into a low cost, gigawatt scale reality.

Longi Solar is among those manufacturers scaling back contact. In this pv magazine Webinar, we take a closer look at the company’s latest Hi-MO 9 module series and the second generation back contact cell technology that underlies it.

Miranda Zhou, Product Manager at Longi, will take us through the series’ key features and the advantages of its four product variants designed specifically to perform in harsh desert environments, offshore and floating installations, dusty areas and regions prone to powerful hailstorms.

The first commercial projects utilizing Hi MO 9 products were installed in 2024, and Longi back contact expert Jingwen Wu will treat webinar viewers to a look at field validation data from systems installed all over the world, covering key metrics such as annual power generation gain, BOS cost reduction, and lifecycle revenue enhancement—to support informed, data driven decision-making.
