PV module technology in 2024 is all about n-type. And while tunnel oxide passivated contact cells have so far taken the largest market share, there is still plenty of interest in heterojunction as a potential route to reliable, high efficiency PV modules.
Huasun is one of a small number of companies implementing HJT at serious scale, with 20 GW module production capacity expected in 2024, and plans in place to double this to 40 GW by the end of 2025, at multiple manufacturing sites spread across China.
The company has demonstrated modules in series production with power output of up to 740 W, and efficiencies past the 23% mark. In this pv magazine Webinar, we will take a look at some of the innovations behind these impressive numbers, with particular focus on the zero busbar approach, which Huasun says promises improved module reliability and optimized material consumption – cutting down on silver consumption, which has long been a major challenge for HJT cells, and playing to another HJT advantages by allowing the use of thinner silicon wafers.
We will be joined by Chen Jingwei, technical assistant to the Chairman at Huasun Energy and member of the SEMI China Photovoltaic Standard Technical Committee, who will take us through the features and performance details of Huasun’s latest HJT module. And then we hand over to Ginger Dai, Head of Product Planning at Huasun Energy, for a closer look at Huasun’s zero busbar design, and the advantages it creates compared to other approaches.
Both speakers will also participate in a live Q&A session, offering a chance for the audience to get involved with questions. Don’t miss out on this chance for high level discussion of HJT technology.
