India’s solar market is growing at a rapid pace, buoyed by government support that has seen an 18% increase in new utility-scale projects in the financial year ending March 2024 compared to last, according to JMK Research. It expects India will install over 21 GW in FY25, the vast majority of that in the large-scale segment.
In this pv magazine Webinar, we will explore how advanced tracker technology can improve both the longterm return on investment for solar in the region and help future-proof projects as weather conditions grow more extreme.
Specifically, it will examine the key technical factors when selecting trackers, both in terms of the engineering design phases and long-term operation. These are vital to understand, especially given India is densely populated and large tracts of its land are used for agriculture. On top of this, regions in India’s south and west experience high winds, while its east is prone to flooding.
Solar projects, thus, need to be both durable and reliable as well as profitable, all while keeping an eye to optimum land use.
To understand how tracker technology can help deliver these outcomes, panelists Samul Verma, Head of Civil Engineering at Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy; Prasanta Patra, Assistant Vice President of Ayana Renewables India; and Siddharth Singh, head of the Civil & Structural Engineering team at Serentica Renewables, will join speaker Abhilash Pamulaparthy, Senior Product Manager at Nextracker.
Nextracker’s Pamulaparthy will also present on how the company’s tracker solutions can benefit the Indian market and ultimately reduce project’s levelized cost of energy (LCOE), as well as expanding on Nextracker’s terrain-following solutions, software capabilities and extreme weather features.
pv magazine webinar content:
• Technical considerations for tracker selection
• Design pyramid for tracker systems
• Best practices in product & project engineering
• Drafting stronger Request for Proposals (RFPs)
