An estimated 40% of commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftops are effectively locked out of the solar market because they lack the minimum load-bearing capacity (15 kg/m2 ) for typical PV systems using glass crystalline silicon modules. Many asset owners have to strengthen rooftops to install solar, which is both costly and disruptive.

To open up the benefits of self-generated solar energy to more C&I customers. Sunman has invented and commercialised the world’s first ultra-light, glass-free, effortless installation crystalline silicon PV module – eArc. The full installed weight of eArc modules is <4 kg per m2. This presents little stress to the roofs existing structure and allows asset owners to install solar without strengthening the roof. Meanwhile, Sunman presents a safe and simple installation solution.

In this pv magazine Webinar, Sunman Energy president Dennis Shi will explain how the company’s signature eArc technology can enable solar installations on structurally limited C&I roofs, bypassing the need for costly reinforcements, as well as installations on unusually shaped roofs, thanks to its panels’ flexibility.
