Inside Sales Support Specialist
Owner, Oliver's Hair Studio
As a third-generation salon owner, guest artist, inspirational speaker, and a licensed stylist for more than 35 years, I have a true passion for our industry.
I’ve been involved on PBA’s Government Affairs Committee for the past 10+ years and currently serve as co-chair. Annually, I travel to Washington, D.C. for Lobby Day, Welcome to Our World, and for meetings with legislators as we strive to receive some of the benefits that other industries receive. I’ve presented our issues at Serious Business and other industry events.
I’ve been on the PBA Board of Directors since 2012. I feel that there are still many issues that need to be addressed, since we continue to face many challenges in our industry.
My passion is to continue to uphold the professionalism and industry standards to its highest level.
Owner, Progressions Salon Spa Store
Since I was 15 years old, I knew the beauty industry was my calling.
What started as an afterschool shampooing job grew into a full-blown passion for helping people feel beautiful. I pushed to graduate early from high school so I could get to cosmetology school as soon as possible.
License in hand, I eagerly went to work for an Estee Lauder brand and in 1984, I opened Progressions. That 2,000 square foot location has grown into 9,000+ feet, and is home to a 65-team member family. I am now the sole owner, and I consider it my mission to help guests— and my team— find their most beautiful selves.
I have continued to build my brand on the pillars of education, exceptional customer care, the highest quality brands, a commitment to our community and a coaching culture. I am honored my business has been recognized multiple times as a Washington Post Best Places to Work and a Salon Today 200 honoree, though I am most proud of our ongoing philanthropic efforts toward suicide awareness, breast cancer research and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
As a PBA member, I plan to continue to advocate for the importance of licensing, to keep our profession as amazing as it can be. Educating the industry’s next generation, as well as the public, is a top priority for me. I also look forward to continued connections with fellow PBA members at industry events and our communities where we can continue to support each other and the industry we love.
