ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
FORMAT: A 17-minute interactive webinar plus time for Q&A.
NOTE: This webinar does not address ‘project management for huge projects that take years to complete, cost millions of Rands, require detailed levels of planning, resource scheduling tools, critical path analysis, PERT diagrams and the like.
Our intention is to introduce the basics of managing information for your small projects.
We follow David Allen’s definition of a project, “Anything that will take you more than one step to complete.”
Moving house is a project. Developing a new product for your business is a project. Your next holiday is a project. Completing a course is a project.
Projects – even the small ones - typically require us to plan, communicate with others by email, phone, and online meetings. To keep track of the work that has been completed, what is still outstanding, what can be delegated, where are the bottlenecks…
People often have multiple places they keep information for their projects. Looking for stuff wastes time. Things get disorganised before you can say ‘project’. Poor communication leads to mistakes and wastes time and other resources.
Maybe it’s time to get back to managing the basics. To the 5 W’s and 1 H. Why. What. Who. When. Where. How.
To use quite simple tools and appropriate technology to make life easier. We will demonstrate our approach using Outlook, XMind, and OneNote. You can apply the same ideas using any other technology.
To enjoy the stages of our projects, from inception to celebration.
You will leave this microlearning productivity pit stop with solid tips on how to make sure that your projects are successful.
See you there.
