When you share a dashboard or a document, the hard part is getting everyone to look at the same thing. “Top left. No, a bit lower” costs time and attention. Screen Share Annotations puts a small drawing toolbar on your shared screen. Turn on Drawing, then circle what matters, point with an arrow, underline a row or type a short note. Every mark appears for everyone in the room as you make it, sized to their screen, and it’s part of the recording too. When you’re ready to move on, undo a mark or clear the screen in one click.
In your live room, open the + menu above the stage and choose Share Screen, then pick the window or tab you want to show. Your screen fills the stage, for you and for everyone watching.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pen | Draw freehand: underline a row, tick an item, sketch a quick shape. |
| Arrow | Point from anywhere on the screen to the thing that matters. |
| Line | A straight line, to connect two things or set one apart. |
| Circle | Ring a number or a word. Start in the middle and drag outward. |
| Rectangle | Box in a section of the screen. |
| Text | Click where the note goes, type, and press Enter. Font Size (18 to 48 px) and Type Width (150 to 650 px) sit under the tools. |
| Color and Brush Size | 39 colors, from white to black, and a brush from 1 to 20. |
| Undo and Redo | Take back the most recent mark, or put it back. |
| Clear | In the tool menu: wipes every mark from the share, for everyone. |
Each mark goes out to the whole room the moment you finish it, and every attendee sees it in the same place on the screen, whatever the size of their window. People who join late, or reconnect, see what is already on the share.
Other admins and presenters on stage can draw at the same time, and their marks line up in the same order for everyone. Attendees see every mark but don’t get the tools.
The recording shows the screen share with its drawings, so people who watch the replay see exactly what the live audience saw. Takes you record in Recording Studio include them too.
| Topic | Detail |
|---|---|
| Who can draw | Channel admins and presenters on stage. Presenters off stage don’t get the tools. |
| Who sees the marks | Everyone in the room, including webcast viewers and people on phones and tablets. |
| Phones and tablets | Drawings show, but drawing needs a computer. |
| A new share | Starts with a clean screen, and so does Switch Screen. |
| Your own view | You see your share at full size, the way your audience does. Share a window or a tab rather than your whole screen, so the share doesn’t show itself. |
| Fullscreen | Drawing works in fullscreen too. Safari on a Mac doesn’t offer the fullscreen button. |
| Stopping | Use the stop button in the corner of the share, then Yes on Stop screen share? |
