ICP-MS and ICP-OES analysis of Organic Matrices: Practical Solutions from Lubricants to Petrochemicals and Beyond

The analysis of organic matrices presents specific challenges to both ICP-MS and ICP-OES owing to the abundance of carbon containing compounds and different volatility as compared to aqueous solutions. In this session we discuss the implications for correct instrument setup to achieve reliable, interference-free results. Application examples are presented from petrochemical field, wear metal analysis of lubricating oils, and high purity solvent analysis. Instrumental features relevant for high analytical performance for these applications will be discussed.
