WEBINAR ENDED
Private equity companies have been at the heart of an extraordinary surge in international business growth as the onset of remote work and elimination of traditional offices made it increasingly possible to hire talent across borders.

According to Globalization Partners’ 2022 CFO Survey, nine out of 10 EMEA CFOs said their company’s long-term growth strategies include potential (or ongoing) growth into countries where they do not currently operate. Of these companies with expansion ambitions, parent and portfolio companies recognize the need to engage expertise given the complexities of global growth.

Key international expansion challenges include navigating regulatory and legal constraints — particularly taxation, transfer pricing, financial transactions, foreign exchange risks, and employment legislation. . Portfolio companies need to hire the best talent quickly, regardless of location, while remaining compliant.

Moreover, M&As can drag out and risk bleeding funds. This can be compounded when moving into new territories. Employee transfers and remote hiring can be equally time-consuming while portfolio companies may have to match the employee benefits of the acquiree.

Globalization Partners believes that within the next five to 10 years, many of these traditional barriers to global growth will have been eliminated. Portfolio companies will be capable of expanding by seeking highly skilled talent and the ideal customer profile based on their product or market fit and competitive advantage — regardless of location.

A promising era has dawned for private equity-backed companies.
