Regions Bank Executive VP - Chief Compliance Offices

Doug Jackson is Chief Compliance Officer for Regions with responsibility for Compliance, making reports to the Risk and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors, leading the Compliance & Regulatory Risk Management Group, developing strategies, processes, and practices to oversee effective compliance, and aligning the organization to meet new and existing regulatory expectations. Jackson joined Regions in 1989.

He is president of the Regions Community Development Corporation; a board member for the Regions Foundation, The Foundry Ministries, and TruFund Financial Services (a national nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution); an executive board member for Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design, and Construction; a member of United Way of Central Alabama’s Tocqueville Society; and a member of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s Bankers Roundtable.

Jackson was a founding board member for The Housing Fund in Nashville, is a former board member for the Birmingham Urban League, a former board member of the Sloss Furnaces Foundation, and a former editorial board member for the Tennessee Housing Journal. Jackson’s past affiliations include service to a number of civic organizations in the greater Nashville area. He is a past chair of the NAACP Freedom Fund and the Minority Enterprise Development Week. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The University of Alabama.

Executive Director of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama

Ms. Rubio is a seasoned nonprofit professional with over 25 years’ experience working in low-income communities, predominantly immigrant Hispanics. A native of Mississippi and a second-generation Mexican American, Ms. Rubio was greatly influenced by the change brought to Mississippi by the struggle for Civil Rights. She earned degrees in History from the University of Southern Mississippi and Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After working in the community for over 8 years, she was moved to found the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (¡HICA!) in 1999 and has served as founding Executive Director since 2001.

¡HICA! is a nonprofit organization that educates and empowers Alabama’s Latino community through its educational, leadership, community development, and advocacy work. ¡HICA! established the Camino Loan Fund, LLC in 2019 and has engaged with thousands of Hispanics across Alabama to increase opportunities and, as the only Latino serving organization in Alabama, is a bridge-builder with many local, regional and national organizations. ¡HICA! is affiliated with many local and national organizations including the United Way of Central Alabama, the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders, UnidosUS, Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc, and ASISTA. Ms. Rubio is deeply involved in her community and serves on the boards locally, regionally, and nationally including the Alabama Business Charitable Trust, Building Alabama Reinvestment (BAR), National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders Executive Committee (NALCAB), Regions Financial Corporation Diversity Council, LiftFund CDFI Advisory Board, and ASISTA.

She served two terms on the Board of Directors of UnidosUS. Ms. Rubio has received numerous awards including the Trailblazer Award from the Birmingham Metro NAACP, Civil Rights Award from the Birmingham Metro Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. Ms. Rubio is a nationally recognized public speaker on the issue of immigrants in the South.
Ms. Rubio is an artist, equestrian, and gardener. She has two adult daughters, Amanda and Sofia, lots of cats, and a horse named Crown.
