Nickel Digital’s recent Institutional Investor Survey revealed that mainstream investors are increasingly contemplating allocation for digital assets, however asset security and custody of digital assets remains one of the biggest outstanding concerns. The purpose of this session is to discuss the recent advancements in institutional-grade solutions for trading, settlement and custody.


Background

The custody of digital assets requires very different processes from traditional asset classes, relying on specialist custody providers and advanced cryptographic technology. Safeguarding private keys is an aspect of paramount importance, and institutional solutions have evolved to provide robust secure frameworks.

We shall review various approaches to holding digital assets, ranging from hot storage, cold storage, and self-custody to use of specialised custodians of digital assets. We will focus on institutional-grade custody solutions, drilling into important security frameworks.

Anatoly earned an MA degree in International Business from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and Executive MBA degree from the University of Oxford in 2009. He returned to Oxford in 2018 to be among the first cohort of global investment professionals to complete Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme, which ultimately led to co-founding of Nickel Digital.
