Peter Crofton
Partner in the Construction Law Practice of Smith, Gambrell, & Russell, LLP
Mr. Crofton assists clients with all aspects of the design, construction, and renovation of new and existing facilities. Mr. Crofton has assisted with projects ranging from energy, commercial and industrial, food and beverage, resort and hospitality, and mixed-use developments. Mr. Crofton also litigates, arbitrates and mediates complex, multi-party construction disputes throughout the United States and abroad.
David Fogt
Registrar of Contractors California Contractors State License Board (CSLB)
David R. Fogt became Registrar of Contractors on May 2, 2017. In the position, Mr. Fogt serves as CSLB’s executive officer and oversees a $60 million budget and more than 400 employees in Sacramento and at other offices around the state.
Mr. Fogt, who earned his painting contractor license in 1986, began his CSLB career in February 1990, working in a number of supervisory positions in CSLB’s Enforcement division before being named Enforcement Chief in October 2001, which he served as until his appointment to Registrar.
Doug Jennings
Assistant General Counsel, Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR)
Doug Jennings serves as an assistant general counsel for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), where he is responsible for oversight of the Electricians, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors, and Combative Sports programs. Mr. Jennings’ other areas of practice at TDLR include contested cases under the Administrative Procedure Act, ethics, rulemaking, and legislative drafting. Mr. Jennings has also worked in private practice, where he specialized in intellectual property matters.
