There is new research from Carter Cast – professor at Kellogg School of Management, venture capitalist and former CEO – that provides new insight into why talented people fail to get ahead. Nearly two-thirds of all leaders and mangers will derail at some point in their career. That means getting fired, demoted, or perhaps worst of all, “plateaued” where one will never hit the expected level of achievement or performance.
Carter’s research has grown out of personal experience. He has been out there in the trenches of the real world, working his way up (and at times, down) the corporate ladder.
