Please join the MNO in its third event of this year’s speakers series hosted by the Mental Health and Addictions Program. During this event, participants will have an opportunity to learn about digital misuse in our children and youth and strategies for appropriate use of technology for young, developing brains. Co-hosted by Dr. Michael Cheng, a child and family psychiatrist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and Loma Rowlinson, MNO’s Problem Gaming and Gambling Coordinator, families will also have an opportunity to learn about historical and contemporary Métis land based activities as an alternative activity. Specifically, this event will address:

    • What we need for mental health, wellness and resiliency,

    • How modern society, in particular technology during COVID, can get in the way of this,

    • What we can and must do about this as individuals and society.
