Moderator - Victor Shieh
Strategy and Communications Director - IAPH
Victor Shieh is IAPH’s Strategy and Communications Director, having commenced work for IAPH as Communications Partner for its World Ports Sustainability Program which launched in 2018.
Victor has been involved in the maritime and logistics industry since he graduated in BCom from The University of Birmingham, beginning his career as a management trainee of the National Freight Consortium in the UK before leaving for Spain. There he commercially managed an enterprise serving Iberian ports and logistics operations with real-time radio data solutions.
He then moved to Belgium in 1998 where he was European Business Unit Manager for voice-based logistics data systems. He then joined Safmarine Container Lines as Global PR and Communications Executive , a Maersk subsidiary with roots in Africa.
Following ten years in the role, Victor set up his own communications agency, advising shipowners, offshore companies, ports, terminal operators, supply chain logistics companies, and forwarders on all aspects of corporate communications.
Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof
Chief Executive Officer - MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd
Dato’ Azman, 55, has more than 30 years of experience that includes investment analysis, corporate finance, corporate strategy, business development and port management. Prior to this appointment which was announced in early December, Dato’ Azman served as the CEO of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”) since 2016. He holds several notable positions, including Chairman of Port Klang Cruise Terminal Sdn Bhd, Director of Klang Port Management Sdn Bhd and Director of Northport Distripark Sdn Bhd. Dato’ Azman also serves as the current Vice President of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), Council Member and Deputy Treasurer of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), Executive Committee Member of the Malaysian Biomass Industries Confederation (MBIC) and President of the London School of Economics Alumni Society of Malaysia, among others.
Craig Wilson
Head of Sustainability - Port of Brisbane
Craig Wilson is a sustainability and environmental management professional with over 25 years of experience in the maritime transport industry having worked at the Ports of Townsville, Port Hedland and now Brisbane. Craig holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Science and a Masters Degree in Environmental and Business Management.
Throughout his career Craig has been exposed to a wide cross section of environmental management and sustainability challenges including the development of key corporate environmental and sustainability strategies.
Craig is passionate about the environment and has used his position to develop award winning innovative solutions to environmental management and sustainability problems that not only deliver better environmental outcomes but also better financial and social outcomes.
Bart van Eenoo
Chief Executive Officer, Autonomous Port of Cotonou
Graduated with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, he joined the Autonomous Port of Cotonou on November 18, 2021.
With his twenty-two (22) years of professional experience including seventeen (17) years in the port sector, he now holds the position of General Manager, after having been at the head of the Major Works Department its monitoring in accordance with the required safety and quality standards.
Brunette Rosine Sounkoto
Sustainability Manager, Autonomous Port of Cotonou
Graduated with a Master 2 in Transport and Logistics Management, she is a specialist in the port sector.
Her 17 years of experience, including fifteen (15) in different positions within the Port Autonomous of Cotonou, in several departments.
Of Beninese nationality, she joined the Autonomous Port of Cotonou team in August 2010, with her knowledge.
Since 2023, she has been responsible for implementing the sustainability strategy of the Autonomous Port of Cotonou and managing social projects.
Patrick Verhoeven
Managing Director IAPH
Patrick Verhoeven is managing director of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). The organisation represents about 180 ports and some 150 port-related businesses in 85 countries worldwide.
Prior to joining IAPH in 2017, Patrick spent twenty-four years in Brussels representing the interests of shipowners, port authorities, terminal operators and ship agents at EU level. He started his career in 1991 with the Antwerp-based ship agent Grisar & Velge.
From 2019 to 2022, Patrick served on the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority as deputy chairman. Patrick holds a PhD in applied economics and a bachelor’s in law from the University of Antwerp. He is associate professor at the university’s Centre for Maritime and Air Transport Management (C-MAT). Patrick lives in Antwerp with his wife and three children.
