Director of Media, Save the Children
Sean is Director of Media at Save the Children UK, overseeing news, public relations and digital media, and the Global Media Unit. He joined Save the Children in 2016 after 25 years at The Sunday Times.

Previously he was health correspondent of the Reading Post, consumer affairs correspondent of the Daily Mail and environment correspondent and science editor of The Sunday Times before becoming deputy news editor. He also spent 15 years as foreign editor. Sean has made numerous contributions to radio, notably on Radio 5 Live, and to television, where he presented a Channel 4 Dispatches documentary.

He has reported or overseen coverage of a wide range of domestic and international crises. These have included the responses of P&O to the Zeebrugge ferry disaster, Malaysian Airlines to the disappearance of flight MH370; BP to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; and Volkswagen to the VW diesel emissions scandal.

He has also had to respond to crises relating to wars in Kosovo, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, and terrorist attacks from 9/11 and the Moscow theatre siege to the kidnapping and killing of journalists by ISIS.

Managing Director, Media First
