Scott McLean

CEO/Founder

Scott McLean has been in the financial services industry since 1983. He founded McLean Advisory Group in 2008. Since that time, McLean Advisory Group has been helping families in the Jersey Shore area to plan for life events. Scott has his Series 65 license and is also licensed in life and health insurance.

Scott's passion for community service and vast family history of veterans drove him to establish "McLean Veteran Benefit Advisory Group," a non-profit group dedicated to helping veterans with long-term care benefits.

Scott dedicates a large portion of his time to educating investors and the community through workshops on topics related to retirement income planning, social security, estate planning, required minimum distribution planning and common mistakes retirees make with their finances. Scott is the host of “Financial Insanity”, a weekly educational radio show on WBNJ and he has also appears on numerous radio and TV shows as a guest or host.

Scott recently published a book, Three Blind Mice: How the Financial Planning Process Leads Your Money to a Mousetrap which reached #7 on the Amazon Hot New Releases!

Scott is a long time resident of Ocean County, married and has five children. He is an active member in his church in Barnegat. In his spare time, he enjoys boating and water skiing with his family, and most weekends will be found running his horse farm, New View Equestrian Center in Southampton, NJ.

George Kastanis

Senior Wealth Advisor

George Kastanis, CFP® joined McLean Advisory Group in 2011. He has been in the financial services industry since 2009. George found his passion for finance during college and was encouraged by his professors to pursue financial advisement. After starting off with a bigger insurance firm, he quickly realized that being an independent advisor allowed him to better assist his clients.

George strives to use a straightforward approach that is easy to understand and implement. George is committed to both personal and professional development and has earned his CFP® and his BFA.

George Kastanis grew up in the Ocean County Area and is a first generation American. His family, originally from Greece, came to America when he was very young and opened a diner on Long Beach Island. In his spare time, George enjoys travelling, jet skiing, snowboarding and reading.

Janie Setzer

Marketing Director

Janie joined McLean Advisory Group in 2021 as Marketing Director. After living in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for over 20 years, Janie has recently relocated back to the Jersey shore to be closer to family.

Janie has her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY). She has worked at ad agencies, large and small corporations, non-profit and community organizations in the areas of customer acquisition, customer retention and event planning. She enjoys meeting new people and organizing marketing campaigns and events that educate in a creative, interactive way.

Janie has two sons and in her spare time she enjoys the beach, cooking, crafting and DIY projects around the house.
