    Owner, Giuseppe Bottiglieri Spa
    Born in 1978, Mariella Bottiglieri is the eldest daughter of Giuseppe Bottiglieri and Ghetty Cozzolino, belonging to a family active in the shipping business since 1850.

    Prior to joining the family shipowning business in 2004 as Managing Director and Chartering Manager, Mariella cut her teeth in the shipping business with H. Clarksons as a tanker broker after securing her Bachelor of Science in Economics and Maritime Business.

    In October 2005, Mariella was elected a Board Member of Wista Italy (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) and in 2009 she joined Wista UK and in 2016, became Vice President of Wista Switzerland.

    In April 2006 she joined AIDDA, the World Association of Women Entrepreneurs. From 2005 to 2010 she has been a Board Member of the Confitarma Young Shipowners’ Association in Rome and is a Director of the UK Defence Club based in London.

    Connie is a tax partner at C&B More since 2012. C&B More is a tax advising firm specialised in the maritime industry and international tax planning.

    After graduating from Tilburg University in Fiscal Economics, Connie started with EY and has been working for EY for 15 years, the last three years as a tax partner in Rotterdam.

    In the last 20 years she has published several articles in scientific fiscal magazines, mainly on the Dutch tonnage tax regime.

    Connie is President of Rotterdam Maritime Services Community, a member of the Rotterdam Maritime Board (consulting the Mayor and Aldermen) and member of the Executive Committee as Treasurer of WISTA International (Women in Shipping and Trading Association).

    Angie is an active member of the Greek shipping community for the last 23 years. In 1984, Angie attended courses at the University of La Verne. In 1989 she obtained her Diploma in Travel & Tourism from Hosta International Leysin in Switzerland. Between 1989 and 1991, Angie worked in Geneva for TWA. In 1992, Angie returned to Greece and until presently she manages the crew functions of various family owned companies such as Oceanbulk Maritime S.A. and Star Bulk S.A. Also, Angie is an active member of WISTA (Hellas) since 1999 and President of WISTA (Hellas) since April 2014. She is bilingual (English/Greek) and also speaks French. Finally, she has attended numerous maritime conferences either as a participant or speaker.

    Alexandra started her shipping career in the cruise sector and enjoyed over 16 years serving in a number of executive roles within Marine and Technical Operations. She left the cruise industry in September 2000 as Royal Caribbean’s Director, Technical Purchasing in order to launch Total Marine Solutions.

    Leveraging global support and local presence, TMS works closely with their clients in support and strengthening of their compliance culture from all markets of the industry – cruise, commercial, offshore, government and mega yachts. Armed with both an MBA and undergraduate degree in Accounting, she currently serves as Secretary of the Board of WISTA International.

    Karin Orsel (50) has been working in the Maritime Industry since the age of 18. At 23, Karin was one of the founders of MF Shipping Group, an organisation she has led as CEO and majority shareholder since 2001.

    MF Shipping Group partly owns and manages a fleet of 60 vessels. Oil product/ chemical tankers, multipurpose vessels and cement carriers. MF Shipping Group employs approximately 1000 seafarers and 60 office staff employees.

    In 2009, she won the prestige Dutch ‘Female Entrepreneurship Award of the Year’ for her personal determination and drive in managing her business successfully, being well focused, ambitious and capable of achieving anything she sets her mind to.

    In June 2016, MF Shipping Group was a joint winner of ISWAN’s International Seafarers’ Welfare Award: Shipping Company of the year 2016

    In June 2017, Karin Orsel received an Honorary Doctor of Public Administration Degree of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in recognition of her significant contributions to and impact on the maritime industry through her leadership, motivation and commitment to excellence as well as her active participation in numerous national and international organisations.
