Dan completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in English at Villanova University. Over the course of his 29-year career, he has taught a wide variety of high-school English courses at a number of different schools in and around his hometown, Chicago--the past 16 at Riverside-Brookfield High School. A National Board Certified Teacher and mentor since 2010, Dan is accustomed to working with teachers seeking professional development. Currently a Question Leader for the College Boardā€™s AP English Language & Composition exam, and a Reader and Table Leader for the previous 17 years, Dan has gained valuable insights into assessing student writing. He also served on the College Boardā€™s AP English Language Instructional Design Team and is an acknowledged contributor to the new Course and Exam Description and online resources launched this past school year. Danā€™s academic work has been published by Bedford, Freeman and Worth in the Teacherā€™s Edition of The Language of Composition, 3rd Edition (2018). In addition, he presents regularly at state and national conferences, most recently the 2019 AP National Forum in DC and the 2016 AP Annual Conference in Anaheim.

Jim Jordan has taught AP English Language and Composition at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco since 2000, during which time he has served as English Department Chair, Cross-Curricular Writing Coordinator, and school-wide AP Instructional Cohort leader. A certified College Board Consultant, Jim has served at the AP Reading since 2007 in roles ranging from Reader to Table Leader to Question Leader, and consulted on curriculum framework design for the course in 2015 and again in 2019. In addition, Jim has actively promoted the cross-disciplinary value of rhetoric at both state and national conferences, presenting most recently at the 2015 and 2016 AP Annual Conventions in Austin and Anaheim, and the College Board National Forums in 2016 and 2019 in Chicago and Washington D.C. Jim earned a BA Degree in Broadcast Journalism from San Francisco State University and an MA in Educational Leadership along with his California English Teaching Credential from the University of San Francisco.
