I have been principal investigator for various research programs, recently been TACKLE, ETHIC and TriMaximise study. I have been sub investigator for Novovax and Janssen Covid vaccine trials.

Dr Catherine Heffernan has been the Principal Advisor for Commissioning Early Years, Immunisations and Vaccination Services at Public Health England (London), advising the Director of Public Health and Primary Care Commissioning at NHS England/Improvement (London Region) since 2013. She is a fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, an honorary Associate Professor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Deputy Faculty Advisor for the Faculty of Public Health.
