    Dr Amy Proffitt
Deputy Medical Director & Consultant in Palliative Medicine, St Christopher’s Hospice, London

Having graduated from Oxford University, Dr Proffitt first undertook training in haematology before finding her passion for palliative medicine. Previously a consultant at Barts Health, she enjoys the diversity of work between central London and Whitechapel. She has since moved south of the Thames to take on the role of Deputy Medical Director at St Christopher’s Hospice – the world’s first modern hospice.

Dr Proffitt is the Vice President for the Association for Palliative Medicine. She is enthusiastic about bringing changes to the specialty and fulfils this through her role on the Joint Specialty Committee for palliative medicine at the RCP (London), and as Ambition Partnership Representative on the NHS England End of Life Programme Board. She has a particular interest in ethics and communication.
