Karen is a practising private, peripatetic, first access and classroom music teacher in York with pupils from the ages of 4 to 60 plus. An award winning author, Karen is the creator of the Faber Music, Piano Trainer Series, 8 books from Post Grade 1 to Grade 8 including a Scale Work book. Writing also for Collins Music with the Get Set! Piano series (solo and co-authorships with Heather Hammond), 100 Ideas for Instrumental and Singing teachers with Penny Stirling and titles with ABRSM include Piano Encores and co-authorships in the Piano Star Series with David Blackwell. With 24 publications to date, Karen is a regular contributor to ‘Music Teacher’ and specialises in multi-sensory music teaching. A member of The British Dyslexia Associations’ Music Committee, Kodály trained and passionate about bringing the joy of music to her students. Karen is an experienced trainer, speaker and workshop presenter.
