The title says it all really…..

I will explore some of the simple ways you can use lighting to bring dramatic effects to your productions using old school production lighting techniques to apply simple but beautiful effects to your show without draining your production budget.

I don’t want to give too much away but….I will show you how to create a very simple ripple water effect with just a roll of tin foil and 1 lamp! I will share pictures and visual aids so you can see what you can create with light.

I will also spend some time talking about good colour choices so two colour washes can give you a third or even fourth option in your lighting rig. Lighting colour theory.

    Senior Teaching Fellow in Lighting, Guildford School of Acting, University of Surrey

    Mig is currently the lighting tutor at the Guildford School of Acting but also an active freelance designer, and production technician. She is very passionate about training the next generation of theatrical technicians, and very much works with the mantra of “bridging the gap between education and industry”, utilising and involving her students in the projects and work she is involved in.

    Mig is also a trustee councillor for the Association of British Theatre Technicians and has spent a lot of this year hosting industry seminars. She has a personal interest in mental health awareness and has worked on many projects that highlight well-being and reducing the stigma around this topic.
