    Jessica Holme
Teacher and leader, The Nursery Unit, Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School

With over a decade of teaching experience, I have had the privilege to teach every year group in the primary sector, specializing in EYFS 5 years ago. Alongside teaching full time I have had the opportunities to further develop my own education and practice whilst still teaching full time. These professional development courses include earning ‘Distinction’ in Masters in Education, a certified Froebelian practitioner and recently a licensed trainer for Education for Sustainable Citizenship.

Nursery World has been supportive in my development by publishing my articles on storytelling, music and dance. This collective of opportunities and professional development has led to a fantastic, rare and rather exciting moment where my school honored me with the task of designing, creating and leading the school’s nursery unit.

Having the school’s complete trust and support in this project has been monumental in creating a Froebelian nursery which has been successful in children’s wellbeing, progress and community popularity.
