Matt will share the lessons we’ve learned from the recent lockdown on making a success of blended learning approaches. He will argue that pre-recorded instructional videos are preferable to live learning if the goal is to impart knowledge and sets out a handy 5-part plan for structuring online learning to maximise students’ long-term retention. He shares advice on how to assess and give feedback online, and how to support students through live coaching. He also explains how to use remote learning to complement classroom-based approaches. Matt looks to the longer-term and offers some pragmatic advice on our wider use of edtech, including how we might use it to provide more flexible working practices that can help reduce teacher workload and improve rates of teacher retention.
