Roger Engelbart
Retired. Previous Job Title at Boeing: Associate Technical Fellow - Nondestructive Evaluation
Roger Engelbart began his 50-year nondestructive testing (NDT) career as a radiographic technician in the aerospace industry. He holds a B.S. in metallurgical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and an M.S. in mechanical engineering/materials science from Washington University in St. Louis. Roger is recently retired from Boeing Research & Technology-St. Louis, where he was an Associate Technical Fellow in nondestructive evaluation, focusing on the development of inspection methods for aircraft advanced materials and structures. He currently works for Boeing as a contracted NDT consultant. He holds more than 60 U.S. and international patents in NDT technology. He has been responsible for both internal and contracted research and development, and for executing technology transfer and research programs with Boeing’s international customers. This role has taken him to numerous countries, providing him the opportunity to communicate with international users of ASNT certifications and NDT technology. Roger has been a member of ASNT for more than 30 years and holds NDT Level III certifications in five methods. He is a Past President and Chair of the Board of ASNT, and currently is a member of the Board of Directors.

Allen Gress
Technical Sales Manager for Comet X-ray.
Allen Gress is the Technical Sales Manager for Comet X-ray. He is also a ASNT Level III in RT, VT, MT, and PT as well as a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI). Allen has over 35 years’ experience in Nondestructive Testing, Quality Management, Quality Engineering and Operational Management. Allen worked at NASA as a contractor for 18 years providing NDE inspections onsite at Johnson Space Center. Allen worked for Howden North American as a Quality Engineer/Corporate Level III providing vendor surveillance and NDE training corporate wide. Allen also worked for Element Materials Technology for 12 years as the Operations Manager/Responsible Level III where he managed the NDE lab and the Materials Testing Lab for the Oil & Gas and Aerospace industries. Allen has his Business Management Degree from The University of Phoenix. He loves to teach NDE classes to educate the next generation and use his experience to help mentor NDE technicians.

Joe Heigold
Technical and Certification Engineer BINDT
Joined BINDT with a remit to join a team of technical and certification engineers in order to provide support to industry by responding to specific issues and queries via phone and e-mail communications, support to the Certification function in all technical aspects of method / product / industry sector certification
Specific responsibilities for promoting closer links with BSI concerning NDT / CM standardization via the BINDT Standards Committee that seeks to promote and improve collaboration between BINDT and BSI.
Appointed to chair of BSI WWEE 46 committee on NDT standards in order to gain an overall awareness of the revision status of appropriate standards across a wide range of NDT methods providing a conduit through to the Standards Committee in order to inform the members of developments in standardization and to recruit members to WEE 46 NDT method sub committees with the aim of increasing UK participation in standardization processes including 5 yearly systematic review of published standards.
Also active in the periodic review of NDT apprenticeship standards via trailblazer groups and the education and professional development committee at BINDT and the review and development of associated guidance documentation for apprentices and their employers.
