About
Consumer electronics face diverse real world stresses that standard bench tests often miss.

This session shows how to use environmental chambers to expose weaknesses early—covering temperature and humidity extremes, thermal cycling and thermal shock, condensation control, UV/illumination exposure, and combined stresses.

We’ll map common consumer electronics failure modes (PCBs, connectors, displays, batteries, enclosures) to actionable test profiles, share fixture and sensor best practices for small devices and wearables, and discuss data capture/traceability to speed root cause analysis and compliance.

Key topics covered:

• Typical failure modes in consumer electronics and the environmental stresses that reveal them
• Test profiles: temp/humidity, thermal cycling, thermal shock, soak/ramps, condensation management
• Battery and charging subsystem considerations (safety, stability windows)
• Fixtures, loading, and sensor placement for small form factor devices
• Data logging, alarms, and traceability for faster FA/RCAs and audits
• Scaling from R&D screening to production QA with consistent methods

Attendees will learn:

• 5 practical test setups you can deploy immediately
• Checklist for defining an environmental test matrix per product category
• How to interpret chamber data for design decisions
