About
The presentation will examine the historical evolution of aeronautical flight test telemetry systems, from the analogue telemetry techniques of the 1950s through to the high-speed digital and network-based telemetry solutions in use today.

We will take a look at the organizations that develop the specifications and standards that are required to be met by the industrial base that produces the hardware used in the Industry and promote it’s growth and well being. This includes the RCC (Range Commander’s Council) and the IFT (The International Foundation for Telemetering).

It will also explore how the RF and microwave spectrum has been allocated and utilised by the aeronautical flight test community, and how spectrum usage, modulation methods, digital coding schemes, and system architectures have evolved alongside advances in telemetry technology.

Attendees will learn:
1. How Telemetry Equipment has evolved over the last 70 years
2. Digital coding schemes used in the industry
3. The transition of the frequency spectrum
4. Techniques used for improving spectrum use and received data quality
5. What key roles are played by various governing organizations
