Lee Edwards
Digital Intelligence Software Engineer
Lee Edwards brings more than a decade of expertise in the IT Consultancy and Software Engineering sectors, fuelled by a passion for crafting technical solutions to complex challenges. His journey began with an IT apprenticeship, leading to a degree in Digital and Technology Solutions from Aston University. Lee has developed solutions with widely-used tech stacks, including Java/Spring Boot and React/Node, and has extensive experience in deploying these solutions through Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services. He is currently the Tech Lead for the Carbon Footprint project at BAE Digital Intelligence, an initiative designed to lower environmental impact by enhancing awareness of individual or team footprints during daily activities.

Jen Openshaw
Digital Intelligence Software Engineer
Jen is a Software Engineer based in Manchester. Jen hasn’t always been a Software Engineer; she changed careers after discovering that she loved coding. She completed a coding bootcamp course, alongside being a full-time mum to two young kids during lockdown. Before that she looked after beautiful historic buildings and countryside for the National Trust for 10 years. She is now a full-stack developer, working on web applications and specialising in Java and JavaScript, with a bit of DevOps thrown in for good measure.

Neil Durant
Naval Ships Engineering Manager
Neil graduated in 1995 with a degree in Astronomy, and has worked for BAE Systems ever since. Over this time he has been involved in a wide variety of projects, mostly in the Naval domain. Starting as a software integration engineer, Neil has held increasingly responsible roles, including working overseas in Japan, and has experience in many fields, including Radars, Datalinks, Combat Management Systems and Simulation.
Neil is currently an Engineering Manager, and over the past 5 years he has helped to manage and oversee the development of a number of innovative technological concepts that enhance the capability of our core Combat Management System products.

Elissa Bridge
Air Software Engineering Degree Apprentice
Elissa has been a Software Engineer within the Air business for almost 3 years as a Degree Apprentice, joining straight from college. So far, she has been in x5 different placements across the business, gathering skills in different areas of Software, such as implementing code, creating tests and modelling designs for software projects. Alongside this, she is studying for her BEng in Software Engineering and a Level 3 NVQ in Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing. Outside of work, Elissa enjoys hiking around the Lake District, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
