Turkey is coming off a 1-1 draw against Russia away from home, but also tied 3-3 against Germany in a friendly match before that. The last time Turkey faced Serbia in the Nations League the match resulted in a hard-fought scoreless draw in Belgrade.

Kenan Karaman of Fortuna Dusseldorf scored the lone goal of the match against Russia and he has now scored in Turkey’s last two games in all competitions. Turkey’s attack has the potential to do some damage with Karaman, Hakan Calhanoglu and veteran Burak Yilmaz.

Serbia is coming off a disappointing 1-0 loss to Hungary in the Nations League, but did enjoy a 2-1 win against Norway in the EURO qualifiers before that match. Manager Ljubisa Tumbakovic did rest some key players like Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic against Hungary and it will be interesting to see if they play in this match.

The Eagles still have other talented players up top like Luka Jovic of Real Madrid and Dusan Tadic of Ajax, but they struggled to generate offense against Hungary. This game will not be any easier for the offense as Turkey has some solid defenders like Caglar Soyuncu of Leicester City and Merih Demiral of Juventus.

THE PREDICTION

Turkey played out a third consecutive draw as their wait for a win in the UEFA Nations League continued as they were held by Russia on Sunday. They have just two points from their three matches and top spot already looks well beyond them. After moving one step from qualifying for next summer’s European Championships, Serbia suffered a disappointing loss against Hungary at the weekend to leave them with just a solitary point from their three games in what has been a poor campaign so far. These two played out a goalless draw when they last met and another low-scoring affair looks to be on the cards with under 2.5 goals likely.
