The Portuguese Football Federation has announced that the Juventus forward has withdrawn from the squad following the results.

Ronaldo was looking to edge closer to Ali Daei’s all-time international goalscoring record but that will now have to wait.

Portugal are top of Group A3 in the Nations League having drawn 0-0 with France over the weekend and host a Sweden side who are yet to claim a point in the competition.
