Irwin King
Professor, Vice-President, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Professor Irwin King is a globally recognized scholar in the field of machine intelligence, currently serving as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Professor at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His extensive research interests encompass a wide range of areas, including trustworthy AI, machine learning, social computing, AI, and data mining. Professor King is a Fellow of esteemed societies and associations, such as the ACM, IEEE, AAAI, and INNS. Throughout his career, he has assumed various leadership roles in numerous prominent conferences and societies.
Professor King has received numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to the field of machine intelligence. Notable accolades include the 2021 INNS Dennis Gabor Award for engineering applications of neural networks, the 2020 APNNS Outstanding Achievement Award, and several Test of Time Awards from ACM conferences such as CIKM2019, SIGIR 2020, and WSDM 2022.
Presently, Professor King is the Director of the Centre for Learning Innovation and Technology (ELITE), dedicated to promoting eLearning through education technology. Additionally, he oversees the Machine Intelligence and Social Computing (MISC) Lab, which conducts research in machine learning-related fields.

Dr. Chao Zhou
Technical Lead for Commercial Recommendation, Tencent Marketing Solution
Dr. Chao Zhou currently serving as Technical Lead for Commercial Recommendation at the Tencent Marketing Solution Technology Team, Dr. Zhou has over 10 years of industrial experience in R&D and technical management across recommendation systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing.He has published numerous papers in leading conferences and journals including AAAI, SIGIR, KDD, VLDB, MM, ACL, and TOIS. He holds more than 60 patents granted in China and the United States, and has delivered over 10 technical talks in industrial settings. Dr. Zhou received his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and serves as an External Supervisor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong(Shenzhen).
He currently leads technical workstreams for Tencent Marketing Solution in recommendation model scaling, generative recommendation, and agent-augmented recommendation. Previously, he was responsible for the R&D of Tencent Cloud AI Platform, AI speech and natural language understanding, enterprise AI-to-B applications, as well as advertising data mining and applied data solutions.
