About
Array tomography (AT) is a 3D image reconstruction technique for high resolution, quantitative analysis of biological structures. For optimal results, ultrathin & ordered sections, high-resolution automated SEM imaging and post-processing are absolute requirements.

Watch this webinar and get tips and tricks to acquire the seamless workflow of your array tomography.

Benefits:

Fast and precise trimming of the sample block-face

The importance of adhesion of a single section to create ribbons

The benefits of automated serial sectioning with the ARTOS 3D ultramicrotome

How to acquire and process a 3D SEM dataset

Segmentation and 3D reconstruction of cells

How to Interpret 3D reconstructions

Dr. Mario Schimak
Product Manager, EM Sample Preparation, Leica Nano Technology
Dr. Mario Schimak was awarded his Magister in Ecology from the University of Vienna and graduated in Deep-sea bacterial symbiosis and marine ecology. His Doctoral thesis was completed at the Max-Planck-Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen, Germany, and focused on the transmission of obligate bacterial symbionts in animal hosts. The past two and a half years were spent at Lonza in Visp, Switzerland, as a team leader in a GMP QC Microbiology laboratory. His EM experience includes sample preparation, Ultra-thin sectioning, Cryo techniques and EM analysis for both SEM & TEM. Mario recently joined Leica Microsystems in Vienna within Dr. Robert Kirmse’s Team as Product Manager and will support in Ultramicrotomy. Together with Robert Ranner as an advisor, Mario is responsible for UC7, FC7, ARTOS, EM KMR3, EM RAPID, EM TRIM2, EM TP & AC20.
