Part 2 : How can we ensure efficient FRMCS connectivity in rural areas?

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
The new 5G-enabled telecommunications standard Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) is due to be launched in 2025, improving safety, passenger experience and operational efficiency. Once the transition from GSM-R is complete, a priority for rail infrastructure managers will be ensuring uninterrupted coverage across their whole network. For long-distance networks this will be most challenging in remote rural areas.

This session will debate the best ways to ensure this connectivity and fulfil FRMCS’s promise of more data and faster communications. What could be the role of Bearer Independent Communication (BIC) in offering more reliability, capacity and bandwidth?

The audience will hear from FRMCS leaders representing system designers and coordinators the International Union of Railways (UIC), infrastructure owners SNCF Réseau, ADIF and Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA), global consultancy SYSTRA, and BIC experts Frequentis.
