*Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs are designed to provide 60 minutes of educational content. LexisNexis applies for credit based on the content, but the type of credit and approval is at each state’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board's discretion.
To comply with state regulations, only instructional time counts toward CLE credit. Introductory remarks, logistical details, and breaks are excluded. Jennifer obtained her AB from Dartmouth College and earned her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Before attending law school, Ryan served as Captain in the United States Army with assignments in Kaiserslautern, Germany and Fort Riley, Kansas.
Ali also assists public companies with ongoing securities law compliance requirements. SEC reporting, and general corporate governance matters.
Liz spent over 11 years at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Corporation Finance. She most recently served as Acting Director of the Office of Small Business Policy and previously served as Special Counsel to the Deputy Director of the Division.
Liz obtained her BA from Boston University and earned her JD from Duke University School of Law.
Edward has been involved in hundreds of proxy solicitation campaigns and has led clients to successful outcomes in various matters relating to executive compensation, corporate governance and shareholder activism. He provides year-round corporate governance advisory services to help numerous Russell 3000 and Fortune 500 companies make smarter governance decisions.
He is a member of Georgeson’s Activism and M&A teams and regularly contributes to Georgeson content development. He has also been a featured speaker for IR Magazine and the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) webinars.
Prior to joining Georgeson, Edward oversaw the Kingsdale U.S. research team as vice president of research. He also served as vice president of governance at AST Phoenix Advisors and vice president at Laurel Hill Advisory Group.
Edward is an active member of the Society for Corporate Governance and the NIRI.
James also held roles as General Counsel at RCS Capital Corporation and EVP at American Realty Capital from January 2013 to November 2015. From January 2011 to January 2013, they worked as Chief Securities Counsel -- Deputy General Counsel at American Realty Capital. James's earlier experience includes working as an Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP from November 2005 to January 2011 and as an Associate at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP from 2002 to 2005.
James Tanaka earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Columbia University from 1992 to 1996. James then pursued a Master of Arts degree in CIR - International Relations from the University of Chicago - Committee on International Relations from 1998 to 1999. Following that, Tanaka attended Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, completing their Juris Doctor degree in International Law from 2000 to 2002.
