I have been working in IED since 2003, covering increasingly complex positions in an international context.

Most of the various tasks I have been involved in have enabled me to get to know our students personally, from the moment of their first contact with IED until the completion of their education at our school, allowing me to have a complete overview of their journey, their growth, and their results.

Umberto Sannino

Head of Fashion School IED Milano

A designer with a multifaceted profile, Umberto Sannino, the Head of Fashion School IED Milano, boasts a career that spans teaching and freelance consultancy, embracing international contexts and with an interdisciplinary approach that is marked by a focus on sustainability and awareness, the value of inclusion and the comparison of cultures. His experience extends to managing and coordinating custom made collections, with specific skills in trend forecasting and styling. In terms of teaching, since 2023 he has coordinated the Master of Arts (DASL) at IED Firenze in Textile Design. Material Consciousness & Circularity. His career includes partnerships with brands such as Bottega Veneta, Ermenegildo Zegna, Plan C, Costume National, Hugo Boss, Redemption, Taschen, Ballantyne and Moda Operandi.

Giovanni Ottonello

Art Director at IED

Si laurea in Architettura a Genova e dopo diverse esperienze nel campo dell’exhibit, museale e scenografico, si interessa al mondo dell’arte e moda. Ha collaborato per docenze, seminari, workshop o conferenze spaziando dalla grafica, alla moda, dal design, al cinema, alla fotografia, all’arte contemporanea. Oggi è Art Director IED Istituto Europeo di Design.

He graduated in Architecture in Genoa and after several experiences in the field of exhibit, museum and stage design, he became interested in the world of art and fashion. He has collaborated on lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences ranging from graphic design, fashion, design, cinema, photography and contemporary art. Today he is Art Director of IED Istituto Europeo di Design.
