This live 90 minute session will feature talks from:

DEPARTMENT FOR BUSINESS, ENERGY & INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY (BEIS):
At BEIS, we are leading the UK’s recovery from coronavirus and building a stronger, greener country. Our work makes a real difference to people across the UK and internationally.

We lead on the UK’s commitments to tackle climate change and drive green economic growth. We support businesses to create jobs and increase opportunity in regions across the UK. We also encourage investment and innovation to make the UK a science superpower producing research that will improve lives.

UK ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY (UKAEA):
UKAEA researches fusion energy and related technologies, with the aim of positioning the UK as a leader in sustainable nuclear energy

Do you want to help shape the future of the world’s energy? We are recruiting to a wide range of scientific, engineering and technical posts to enable us to meet the growing demands of our challenging European and UK fusion energy programmes.

We have professionally accredited training schemes for graduates and apprentices, and strong links with universities around the UK for PhD placements.

OFFICE FOR NUCLEAR REGULATION (ONR):
ONR independently regulates nuclear safety and security at 36 nuclear licensed sites in the UK. We also regulate transport and ensure that safeguards obligations for the UK are met. Our duty is to ensure that the nuclear industry controls its hazards effectively, has a culture of continuous improvement and maintains high standards.

The nuclear industry is undergoing rapid change and our role as a regulator is vital in ensuring new nuclear facilities are designed, built and operated to the highest standards, and in a manner that improves public confidence without compromising safety or security.
