WILLIAM GRANT AND SONS DISTILLERS:
William Grant & Sons is the biggest independent whisky company in Scotland, with the third-largest malt distilling capacity in the industry. It operates four malt distilleries, namely Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Kininvie and Ailsa Bay, as well as Girvan grain distillery, on the same Ayrshire site as Ailsa Bay where there are also major maturation and blending facilities. Bottling takes place at Grant’s Strathclyde Business Park facility near Glasgow, where office functions are located, while a London office is situated at Richmond.

    Martin Hyde
    Engineering Manager - Ecolab
    Martin is a Chemical Engineer (UMIST). In 2002 joined an engineering design consultancy in Frodsham delivering projects across many sectors (Chemical, Water, Wastewater, and FMCG). Martin ran multi-discipline teams (process, mechanical, electrical, civils, and hydraulics), and helped grow the process team from two to twenty. Projects included design, de-bottlenecking, standards writing, construction, commissioning, and decommissioning, range £10k to £45M.

    For the last two years as Engineering Manager at Ecolab in Northwich, a liquids blending site (c.100 products, 500mL to bulk tankers). September 2021 Martin moves to Regional Engineering in Ecolab’s Healthcare and Lifesciences division, overseeing CAPEX delivery at nine facilities across Europe.
