Ted Sorom
CEO and Cofounder
Ted is the cofounder and CEO of Mantle. Ted is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in product design and manufacturing—including tooling. Prior to Mantle, Ted served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at SRI International researching possible spin-out opportunities in robotics and computer vision. Prior to SRI, Ted was the founder and CEO of Rixty, a cash-based online payment company, which he grew into a profitable multinational corporation spanning North and South America. Earlier in his career, Ted held engineering and leadership roles at Wild Planet Entertainment and Light & Motion, manufacturers of toys and high-end underwater equipment. Ted has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California in Berkeley, a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Dartmouth College.
