Electroless nickel is a well-known plating finish because of its lucrative properties such as uniformity, lubricity, solderability and high corrosion resistance. Measuring the phosphorous content along with plating thickness is essential as the properties can change with a change in phosphorus content.

This webinar will address different measurement methods that can be used to measure electroless nickel plating thickness—for example, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), magnetic induction, phase-sensitive eddy current, coulometric and beta-backscatter. Attendees will gain an understanding of the fundamental theories behind different measuring methods and the capabilities and limitations of these measurement methods. The webinar will also address the proper XRF configuration needed to measure phosphorus concentrations in electroless nickel plating and the factors affecting the phosphorus numbers when measuring using XRF.
