Applying its patented technology and a hybrid approach, PepsiCo is using additive manufacturing as an enabler in various aspects of bottle development—accelerating and enhancing performance simulation, advanced system analysis and the production of high-quality, functional prototypes. In working with Nexa3D, PepsiCo has been able to make molds that can withstand 10,000 shots—a dramatic improvement of their previous best of about 100.

Sarah Goehrke is the Senior Director, Strategic Communications and Ecosystems, at Nexa3D. Sarah serves on the Board of Directors and as the Head of DEI at Women in 3D Printing. She is deeply and actively passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the 3D printing industry. Sarah holds Bachelor’s degrees in English and Theatre from Muskingum College, as well as a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion for HR from Cornell University.

Thangthip Tekanil
Packaging Engineer, PepsiCo
Thangthip is a packaging engineer in PepsiCo Advanced Design & Engineering Group, part of Global R&D. She leads the R&D Advanced Rapid Prototyping Strategy pillar for the beverages category, and works in close collaboration with packaging developers, industrial designers and other cross-functional partners to accelerate packaging development and innovation. Thangthip graduated from UMass Lowell with a bachelor's and master's degree in plastics engineering. Thangthip's interests consist of but are not limited to material science, research and development, injection molding, rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing, and project management.
